What was president Hoover's ideas about the government and economy?

Broadly, he thought that the economy could take care of itself and that business best knew its own business. But there is more to it than that. Hoover was very favorable to the idea of businesses in a given industry cooperating together, with some regulatory oversight by the government. It is a concept known as "ociationalism".
